Our modern factory is based in the West Midlands where our designs are manufactured, in-house. Working with customers, largely UK based, also Europe, China, USA and India. Position: Highly skilled, motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join our growing team. The fast-paced role specialises in bespoke materials handling. You play a crucial part in developing high quality, trusted solutions for our diverse customer base. You will bring a strong understanding of engineering, a creative mindset, and a track record of designing and implementing innovative engineering solutions. This role requires agility and adaptability to thrive in our dynamic and fast-paced work environment. Responsibilities: • Design and Development: Own design and development of bespoke materials handling systems, from concept to production, ensure they meet client specifications and industry standards • Collaboration: Work closely with teams, project managers, electrical engineers, and fabrication specialists, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems into overall handling solutions • Fundamentals and Innovation: Fundamentals of engineering design are the core of our designs and equipment, it is critical to be abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to bring innovative solutions to the design process. Continuous improvement to performance and efficiency in design and operation • Documentation: Detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation. Ensure that all design files are maintained and version-controlled • Client Interaction: Engage with clients to understand specific materials handling challenges collaborating on tailoring solutions to meet unique requirements Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree/HNC in Mechanical Engineering • 1-2 years design engineering experience • Understanding of mechanical systems and machinery • Proficiency in CAD software \(SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.\) for 3D modelling and simulation • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal • Familiarity with materials handling industry regulations and standards • Experience with FEA \(Finite Element Analysis\) • Independent, collaborative worker in team environment • Full UK Driving License • Electrical design experience desirable • Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems desirable • Materials handling experience desirable Apply Are you a passionate and talented Mechanical Design Engineer ready to contribute to the next generation of handling solutions?
