The Problem
ThyssenKrupp Elevators presented Handling Concepts Ltd with a problem lifting fabricated elevator doors weighing up to 100kgs from a welding table onto an assembly table (originally done by hand).
Once completed, they were palletised (originally done by hand).
The Solution
Handling Concepts solution is to use a Smigrip Vacuum Lifting System on an overhead electric hoist. This system grips the door assemblies allowing one operator to transfer safely between work stations. The Smigrip was supported on a monorail to give ease of movement between the work stations.
The Outcome
This has removed the need for any manual handling, a better quality of finished product and increased speed of operation.
The Smigrip system has improved production efficiency and works well in our environment.
