Service Engineer – £30k+ DOE
We have an exciting opportunity to join our expanding service department for a highly motivated and hungry Service Engineer. You will be servicing a wide scope of materials handling equipment ranging from bespoke industrial manipulators to electric hoist systems which encompasses mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic disciplines.
In Handling Concepts you are joining strong, stable and growing company which endorses an ethos of supporting and helping others – both customers and employees. For twenty-four years we have nurtured relationships with all industries, which includes blue chip companies, and are proud to mention the likes of Siemens Healthineers, JCB, Cummins Turbo Technologies, & GKN Aerospace as a small example of customers who regularly return to us to find efficient solutions to new handling problems.
Ideally we are looking for someone with experience as either a maintenance or service engineer. Due to the complexity of some of our equipment, experience from the machine building industry, especially producers of bespoke machinery, would be advantageous.
Strong mechanical skills are essential and form the majority of the job. We also need to see strong electrical skills – Able to read electrical schematics, identify components in an industrial electrical control cabinet and fault find on such equipment. A successful candidate would likely be trained to 17th edition although older versions would be acceptable. It is likely that the successful candidate will also have some Hydraulic / Pneumatic skills which we will help them to build upon. We do offer regular training support to employees who have the desire/need to refresh or extend their skill set relevant to the business.
The salary that we would offer would be very much dependent on experience but as a rough guide is likely to be in the region of £30,000+. We work a 40-hour week with overtime regularly available within this position. Occasional overnight stays are required (with sufficient warning). We would also supply the successful candidate with a company van. As expected, travelling is a regular occurrence as well as working at height – ~3-4M typically, but up to a max of 10M on occasion.
