Sometimes the answer may simply be to use a piece of equipment available ‘off-the-shelf’ or it may be possible to modify an existing item to suit.

Many bespoke solutions have been undertaken for payloads from a few kilograms to 10 tons in weight. Almost always they take the form of a fixed station having various manipulating functions in addition to basic grip, lift and lower.

Power sources vary to suit – pneumatic, electric, hydraulic with control systems incorporating inverter VFDs and PLCs etc.
